The Call is an artwork that consists of two sculptures positioned on two small hills opposite one another. They are both made from alien wood found by the artist at the site where they were made. The first sculpture is visible from a nearby parking lot, and the second sculpture is only visible from the position of the first. The title makes reference both to the dialogue between the two sculptures and to the first phase of the hero’s journey, as the artwork serves as a ‘call’ to potential viewers, inviting them in to explore the landscape in order to discover the site-specific artworks made there.
