Breathing Space
2024
Found wood, natural cordage

Individual branches hang from the branches of a tree above to create an arching, enclosing form, reminiscent of protective shelters made by creatures found in its immediate environment, yet large enough for humans to sit inside. The inner space contains a sense of ‘holding’, of tranquility and refuge, a place for quiet reflection. When the tree moves in the wind, the sculpture moves with it; making this both a space to breathe in and a space that breathes.
